The Croghan Teacher's Award
The St. Bartholomew student body, faculty and staff were treated to an unexpected assembly on June 1, 2010. Mr. Josh Hale, executive director of the Big Shoulder Foundation, announced that St. Bartholomew had been selected to receive the Croghan Award for Excellence in Teaching for the 2009-2010 school year. Ms. Colleen Detjen, representing the Croghan Family, presented a check for $43,800 to St. Bartholomew School for their excellence in teaching. This award is given each year to the Big Shoulder School which demonstrates the greatest improvement in school standardized test scores.
Ms. Colleen Detjen was presented with a painting depicting St. Bartholomew School, Church and Peace Garden painted by 8th grade students Maria Ralenkotter and Emily Zavaki.
