Music is a part of the St. Bart's School Experience.....

Instruction:

Classes meet once a week which includes the following:

    ~  awareness and enjoyment of music

    ~  appreciation of music from many cultures & eras

    ~  movement with music (primary grades)

    ~  use of rhythm band instruments (primary grades)

    ~  singing/vocal training

    ~  expanding liturgical and general song repertoire

    ~  musical note reading

    ~  recognition and identification of musical terms

    ~  recognition and identification of musical instruments

    ~  music history

    ~  classical music appreciation

(including use of sound recordings and video)

    ~  musical composition/arrangement

Performance:

  ~ planning and performance of two school masses

    (per grade level)

  ~ two all school concerts (Christmas and Spring)

  ~ weekly mass attendance and participation

  ~ cross-grade performance

    Passion Play (7th)

    Christmas Pagent (8th)
